Professor John Rasko AO honoured with career award
The biannual award, given to only one person internationally, acknowledges his invaluable contributions to gene and stem cell therapy, offering individuals hope in the form of new therapeutic possibilities to help overcome disease.
The award was presented during the 5th International Caparica Conference in Splicing, Lisbon, Portugal where Professor Rasko was a plenary speaker.
Professor Rasko said he was extremely humbled by the honour.
“Gene and cell therapy approaches hold increasing promise in combating a wide range of diseases including genetic and blood disorders, rare diseases and cancer,” said Professor Rasko.
“This award not only recognises my endeavours but pays tribute to the exceptional efforts of my many remarkable colleagues and friends. Together, we continue on this journey of discovery, striving to help overcome disease and improve lives.”
